mac is not garbage. It is the best computer system in dealing with video editing because of it's high tolerance for high resolution video graphics. You need to get your facts straight before making a biased comment.

as far as editing software for Mac is concerned, Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Express are both excellent for live editing, and are becoming more popular among broadcast media. Final Cut Pro comes in the Studio bundle, at $1300 retail, but is well worth it. And Final Cut Express, not exactly the same as Final Cut Pro, but still professional, is listed at $200 retail. If using from the PC side, I would suggest Sony Vegas.
