Hello I have a pair of childs Levis jeans made in the 50s they are in mint condition. I would like to know if they are worth anything.

can anyone tell me what the deal is with my red lines? They are most defineitley genuine vintage red lines 501's. But the red tag has nothing on it but the "circle R" trademark symbol. the number on the top waistband rivet is "2"

The number stamped into the nailhead holding the waistband button denoted which factory produced them

I think most of the so called vintage Levis are fake! Two things I CLEARLY remember from the mid 60s are that the run of the mill jeans were ALL 502s these had a zip fly that replaced the much earlier 501s that had buttons, as far as I can remember no button fly jeans were sold (at least in the UK) between about 1960 and 1980.

Most vintage Levi's are NOT fake. They made millons of pairs of jeans. The reason why most jeans were zipper fly in England (and the east coast of the US) is because it is cold and people didn't like the draft they would get with the button fly. It is the same reason that here on the West Coast of the US you will find mainly button fly jeans and rarely find zippers. I have yet to find a pair of vintage Blue Bell Wranglers over here.

I'm glad you like you Loomstates, that leaves more vintage denim for those of us that appreciate it. Let's see if those Loomstates of yours are worth anything in 40 years.
