He was going to be the Phantom in the play, but he was replaced with Michael Crawford, who IMO is a great Phantom. This video was made in the 80´s, and it was a big hit back then. I love Sarah´s voice, she is my favorite singer:D

I went to New York this spring and went to go see Phantom of the Opera, I forgot the guy's name who was the phantom but I remember his voice it was amazing! So much better than the movie or this one I think. People need to witness it in person to really appreciate it, I know I did.

i prefer the gerard butler and emmy rossum version this one is awful and totally screwed due to the male singer (who ever he is) sara brightman is always amazing ...video is pathetic and again the male lead in the video looks like .. what shud i say ? retarded ? or as demongirl said "mentally challanged"..in short the only good thing in this song/video is sarah brightman
