What a great thing to get off that darn needle...only thing I don't like is the bone marrow sucked from my bones....it does kinda hurt.

well maybe they will be able to use mobilized peripheral blood stem cells so that you dont need bone marrow aspiration from the bone.

As a type 2 diabetic I think it's time for the British Government to encourage this kind of research. As the bone marrow stem cells are extracted from the patients own body, I see no moral issues involved.

Regeneration of islets using bone marrow stem cells is an exciting approach. There are numerous patents covering this. You can see them at our website, which can be found if you google stemcellpatents

If bone marrow stem cells can do make insulin at these concentrations, imagine how good cord blood stem cells would be at this !!

Amazing. I think several others have discussed this concept but you show it in a nice clear and easy to understand manner that bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells can make insulin
