I found few interesting and controversial opinions about the supposed beauty of this movie. If you want to listen more stuff on this, browse on the website which contains the previously mentioned podcasting on: beyondtheexposition. com

Gary Oldman is one of the best big actors around, though I don't think his American accent was 100% solid in this film.

It wasn't at all. He always loses his accent when he yells... it seems a lot of British actors have that problem. Take Daniel Day-Lewis in There Will Be Blood... he was jumping the Atlantic throughout that movie. As someone who knows Christian Bale's filmography, he also has the same problem.

I don't think Day-Lewis lost it in There Will Be Blood, or at least it actually had the effect of him sounding like he could have more of a real mid-Atlantic 19th century American accent - a little more Irish/English, if you know what I mean. Ultimately in this film I'm sure not many Americans will notice Oldman in the one or two bits where his accent drops slightly. If anything he just sounds more Brooklyn-end NYC when that happens anyway.

Gary Oldman is the greatest!!!!!

Apparently, there was some professional rivalry on the set of Dracula, especially in the scene where Hopkins faces off against Oldman in the bat costume. They were both chewing scenery like there was no tomorrow, showing off for each other. I think Oldman always wanted that Lecter type role.

I doubt it. Never heard of it and anyone who knows film knows that the two have the utmost mutual respect.
