Pick another forum to wallow in your self-pity and, please "steer" youself someplace else. Maybe you and Neil Young can disappear together, please?

i don't know how he can preforme this and not cry, because there are a couple of songs that still make me cry thinking about my late wife and she didn't commit suicide like his did

There has always been more mediocre than great music; you just have to steer yourself toward the better stuff. DJ's work for the suits, mostly, and the suits generally know fuck all about art, so radio stations present mostly rubbish. Then we have to be aware that children's pocket money buys a lot of records, that's how the shit gets sold. Convince 'em some dumb fuck is cool and they'll buy it. There is still good music around. Augie March, Powderfinger and John Butler in Aussie, for a start.

'I'm gonna find myself a girl, Who can show me what laughter means; And we'll fill in the missing colours In each other's paint-by-number dreams. And we'll put our dark glasses on - And we'll make love until our strength is gone, And when the morning light comes streaming in We'll get up and do it again.... Get it up again. He cried when he did this at the Festival Theatre in Adelaide in '76. His wife had suicided some time before and he was thinking of her. He did a 3hr gig; it was masterly.

wtw88 - he cried as he performed? That's so sad :(

Mepsib. Yes, he did; but he never lost his rhythm or tone. I believe it was a great release for him: as he would have perceived it - so far away from home. We could just see the tears streaming down his face. It was one of the great shows I've attended. He was singing with smoothness and strength after 3 hrs. Cheers.

wtw88 - at the risk of me sounding incredibly cheesy, I guess that's the power of music isn't it? Thanks for the story

That is the power of music, mepsib; cheesy or not.

Sad but good.
