Not quite, Prince did wrte this song but it wad for the apalonia 6 album in 1984, the bangles did not cover ot ntil 1986. You are mostly correct though.

It's a totally different song... how can you compare them? Just because they are sung by the same band? That's just ridiculous because as said they are totally different.
