Over the top corporate greed. The product originates from these writers. They deserve a bigger slice of the windfall profit. In the end the corporations blinked first because they were losing money in the long term. This had to be done though it put many others out of work. I know first hand.

Media consolidation due to deregulation has created this mess. 5 or 6 big media outlets controlling almost everything you see or hear in the U.S. today.(neo-cons,fuckin relax.you won,O.k.) These giant companies are making vast amounts of cash from they're successful ventures. The product originates from these writers. They deserve a bigger slice of the windfall profits.
