sorry for all the typos.

you're the same clowns that say "yeah right, George Bush has a knob on his desk to control world oil prices." Bush is to stupid to be anything but a puppet. You've missed the point entirely. "Situational" is your euphemism for knocking off anybody who deosn't play ball by our rules.
Chomsky says that your govt. is too incompetent to have pulled it off. Occam's razor. I do agree that Linguistics is his field. But he's been around for awhile and has spoken and written about other scams.

What he fails to explain is:
Why does Bush WANT to control people? What does he have to gain by controlling people?

Chomsky is part of the "blame the West first" crowd; remember the 60's chant, led by Marcuse, "Hey, hey, ho, ho, Western Civ has got to go." This is what animates Chomsky. This process of animation seems to blind him from logical thinking. Example, he blasts America for its "hypocrisy" on supporting and funding Bin Laden in the 70s
He missed the point that American engages in situational foreign policy, we helpen Bin Laden b/c he helped us (indirectly) fight the Soviet Union.

Chomsky's stands on particularly dreadful actions such as JFK's assassination, 9/11, and with regard to the roles of the CIA and FBI, shows Chomsky to be a de facto defender of the status quo's most egregious outrages and their covert agency engines. He conducts his de facto defence of the Empire he appears 2 oppose, through applying the very propaganda methods against which he has warned,

"I'm glad an intellectual authority like him is around to help open people's eyes to the bigger picture (worldwide exploitation of the event)." If you buy the utterly false premise that this deed was executed by nineteen rogue Arabs, how can you possibly grasp the "big picture". "Even if it was an inside job... it doesn't have any significance" is a statement that exhibits a profound LACK of insight.
Plumbata (Thursday 9th of October 2008 10:20:54 PM)
It seems that you lack some insight as well!
Your entire statement is based upon false pretense, as I do NOT buy into any of that BS.
I believe that the US orchestrated the 911 atrocity, I just didn't want to piss off any close minded conservatives more than necessary. I suppose that I didn't safeguard well enough against silly people like you, however. Such is life, and fools who want to argue for the sake of argument abound. I gather from you that I had better get used to it.

Uhhh, okay.

Historian Paul Johnson, in his book, Intellectuals, interestingly tracks what he calls "the flight from reason" that so many intellectuals engage in. It is felt that because of their supreme level of intellect, they can extend their propositions and views to fields that rest outside of their expertise. Chomsky is a good example. He is a brilliant linguistic philosopher, but a very poor political scientist, and a particularly poor historian.

The Ford Foundation indirectly funds Chomsky through the publications that make him an alt media superstar. The Foundation has a well established reputation for funding activist provocateurs and infiltrators who can spread disinfo and create splits in vital movements.
