DrLemur should sue

Back

DrLemur should sue for being wrongfully harassed and denied entry into the US. If DrLemur was intimidated and forced into signing a statement which was not true, then it may be that Tampering with a witness also occurred, which is a violation of federal law and carries a ten year prison sentence. TITLE 18, PART I, CHAPTER 73, § 1512. (b), (3); Tampering with a witness, victim, or an informant, which reads as follows; "(b) Whoever knowingly uses intimidation, threatens, or corruptly persuades another person, or attempts to do so, or engages in misleading conduct toward another person, with intent to— (1) influence, delay, or prevent the testimony of any person in an official proceeding; (2) cause or induce any person to— (A) withhold testimony, or withhold a record, document, or other object, from an official proceeding; (B) alter, destroy, mutilate, or conceal an object with intent to impair the object's integrity or availability for use in an official proceeding; (C) evade legal process summoning that person to appear as a witness, or to produce a record, document, or other object, in an official proceeding; or (D) be absent from an official proceeding to which such person has been summoned by legal process; or (3) hinder, delay, or prevent the communication to a law enforcement officer or judge of the United States of information relating to the commission or possible commission of a Federal offense or a violation of conditions of probation [1] supervised release,,[1] parole, or release pending judicial proceedings; shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both." http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/18/usc_sup_01_18_10_I_20_73.html The US government would be wise to settle out of court and pay DrLemur ten or twenty thousand dollars. (Perhaps if youtubers help DrLemur sue, he would give 50% of the lawsuit money to fellow youtubers who help with the case?) Rock on!

I don't know who you are, sir, but it's nice to know that many of my fellow Americans have as much of a problem with this as I do. I've written a letter to Richard Skinner AND the Embassy of Australia here in the states, and I can only hope my letters have not fallen into uncaring hands. Man, watching this just pisses me off all over again!!! Not at you, Rockguitarnow, mind you. Just Homeland (in)Security. I don't know if I'll EVER rest until THOSE MEN ARE DEALT WITH!!!

They are already wasting trillions of dollars in tax payer money on nothing: it's called iraq and the war on terror. A few million is loose change and america is now in recession because of it. The war on terror has bankrupted the American Dream. I'd be getting angry right about now!

i don't think it's a racial thing, it seems to me that this is a situation of two asshats (among others) who are trying to play tough... the guy has the right to visit his friends and see the country...but I'm afraid that if he comes forward with the story, he will be direly misquoted and mistreated. Or he may get full support...who knows?

You act as your own attorney and it's dirt cheap to file a lawsuit. If you are low income, you can file everything for free. :)
