Cafferty: Was Palin Properly Vetted to Be VP?

Back

From the Cafferty File: There's a growing sense that John McCain may not have done all his homework before making his V.P. pick. Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is now grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons: her 17-year-old unmarried daughter is pregnant.Palin has hired a private lawyer in the trooper probe ethics investigation. She was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it. Palin appeared at a convention of the Alaska Independence Party — which tried to get votes on whether the state should secede from the union. Her husband was arrested 22 years ago on a DUI. And, although Palin is now railing against earmarks, she got hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding for local projects as both governor and as mayor of Wasilla. There's more. What about her foreign policy credentials? CNN's Campbell Brown repeatedly asked McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds last night why Palin is ready to be commander-in-chief, what qualifications she has, and to name one foreign policy decision Palin has made -- Campbell never got an answer. It's reported that Palin may have only traveled overseas once, last year to Germany and Kuwait. This has all led many to wonder how thorough of a vetting the Alaska governor got. McCain only met with Palin once and had one phone conversation with her before offering her the job. It raises serious questions about the kind of judgment McCain would use as president to make other big decisions. Here's my question to you: Was Governor Sarah Palin properly vetted before being named John McCain's V.P.?

Who cares about 20 years ago..especially about her husband's arrest for DUI?!?!? This "logic" proves nothing against her "ability" to become VP? Cafferty...is probably the most un-informative, ignorant, im-mature organization in our country's history. Btw democrats...you complain about her experiance? she has done more than Obama...on about every matter imaginable related to politics. She went over-seas to our troops more than obama has. So dont bash her on going once or twice...

I can't believe your defending that wife. How can you defend that interview? How can you defend her argument pertaining to her foreign policy exp.? She can't name a newspaper or magazine she would read? What did she say in the 2nd Katie interview? "I hope Americans will privilege us..." She can't even survive on the national scene. When do you think her next interview will be? This is a shameful tragedy.

First off, this idiot talking in the video, brings up sarah palin's husband's arrest 20 years ago for DUI...20 years people..who cares about 20 years ago? Obama openly admitted to doing drugs many years ago. How can you judge someone on their husbands minor screw ups 20 years ago...why don't we just bash obama for doing drugs?!?! Ever noticed that republicans can keep their matureness and cool longer and better than the democrats?

So much for Republicans keeping their cool for so long. You call this man an idiot yet you completely miss the point of this segment. In today's voting culture these types of things matter to voters. The media will spin all of this information whether it is fair or unfair for all of the candidates. He is simply discussing how bad of a decision McCain made with his VP pick. It is a legitimate argument considering all of the negative publicity she has received.

ummm... when did obama admit to using drugs? lol you cant just go on youtube and post a bunch of bullshit that people supposively said. Look... Palin is an insult to us republicans. The fact that it was the best they could fucking do is a complete and utter slap in America's face.
