Interesting video;Allthough I`m quite capable of soldering up circuits,I`ve made several PWMs & they all work perfectly, however I`m not very good at diagnosing problems,I too have "blown" a cooling fan(it was a cheapy from china)so I`m interested in your findings on transient voltage;this is just a thought-what would be the result of fitting a condenser(the type used in distributors & alternators)?Iknow it wouldn`t do any harm, but would it do any good?thanks Terry

use an inductor, its resistive to changes in current.

Zero, You talk about voltage transits which blew out the fan. I wonder if you scoped the voltage from the power supply during you labs experiments, could your transits be from a dirty supply? If so would a large battery help in your transits?

Your answer is in video #126. And yes, I think even like a 12v/7a UPS gell cell might do the trick.

Very nice.
