Now this is babel tower at its best, Check out maglev wind turbine, Seems a much better idea, I know those solar towers can also desalinate water, That's quite nice, I think we need "power to the people", Meaning lets have the best devices back home in our garden, New designs has no noise, Electricity next door doesnt loose efficency, POWER TO THE PEOPLE, no more babel babel.

The tower runs very well at night because during the day, the ground below the glass is heated, then it radiates heat back into the air. This allows this solar energy plant to run 24 hours a day.

I always wonder if anyone behind these solar tower schemes has considered the effect on the local environment of pumping hot air into the atmosphere 1 kilometre up?

the warm air cools as it goes up the tower, but continues to rise because of the warm air below it pushing it up, which also cools before it exits the tower.

I understand this but if the air within the tower cools enough to not impact on the local, natural air temperature then I suspect it would be just as likely to establish a convection current within the tower as opposed to exiting the top.

En realidad es una reproducción de la corriente de aire térmica que siempre ocurre en la naturaleza. Creo que el area de colección de calor está sobredimesionada. En una discusión técnica con ex empleados de la FPL (Florida Power and light -USA) dicen que una segunda fuente de energía es el viento de altura, usando paravientos de eje horizontal, girando alrededor de la chimenea. I really like this project.
