From "On the beach" 2004 Living Doll is a popular song by Cliff Richard and the Shadows. Written by Lionel Bart it was originally recorded in 1959 by Cliff Richard and the Drifters and produced by Norrie Paramor. It peaked at #1 on the UK singles chart for six weeks from July 1959, selling over a million copies in the process. The song won Bart an Ivor Novello Award for best song. The song was Richard's first US hit single reaching #30 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Cliff fact 1052: Cliff once run in the New York Marathon. Unfortunately, he was arrested half way round as the ball strangler shorts he was wearing constituted gross indecency according to New York law! I believe he couldnt get off the prison bus quick enough though.

it's well known that cliff is into equestrian activities, i was surprised however that he is top dog in his particular area of this activity. apparrently he is a fully fledged knob jockey!

they thought he said "live in doll" thus putting in question his assumed homosexuality, the crowd of old girls thought they might be in with a chance there. the opposite happened to george micheal of course when he "came out", pissed the missus right off !
