it is the real shell... thats just really good 3d editing to make it stand out in the clip.

i just masked it and just blurred what wasnt masked so you can see the bullet it wasnt that hard to do really. since h3 runs at 30 fps the bullet kind of stayed in the same spot for a few frames then changed to the next animation and just masked that.
