I'm sorry tell you that this is NOT a Jet breaking the sound barrier. It is a phenomenon (vapor cloud) It is the effect of lowered pressure at the upper edge of the airfoil caused by the pilot's maneuvering that caused the temporary cloud.

I was at Toronto Pearson Intl when the Concord took off to New York on its last flight. It was so sad to see it go into the air one last time :(

the space shuttle does brake the sound barrier in he ascent as well. How ever we can not hear it because the space shuttle already makes so much noise.
